Oare Marshes (05:00 to 10:00) A calm and mostly cloudy start with a few spots of rain - sunny spells with a moderate SW breeze picking up later. Warm and humid - temp. up to 23C. LT circa 09:00. With RM. [Murray Wright]  Map

Shelduck (pair with five small ducklings on mud E of slipway), 4 Teal (two drakes and two ducks on EF), 2 Cuckoo (male and female heard), 1 Turtle Dove ('purring'), 2 Little Ringed Plover (nesting pair of EF still), 1 Spotted Redshank (summer plumage bird flew off S calling from EF circa 05:05 - presumed a returning bird), 1 Little Gull (1st summer again on mud E of slipway then flew to EF to roost), 3 Cattle Egret, 1 Great White Egret (on marsh just E of DD), 1 Barn Owl, 3 Corn Bunting (DD to UC)
