Acanthis flammea exilipes

Rare Vagrant

  Common Redpoll, Lesser Redpoll, and Arctic Redpoll, have been lumped as a single species to be known simply as Redpoll, Acanthis flammea flammea. It has two recognised sub-species Lesser Redpoll, Acanthis flammea cabaret, and Arctic Redpoll, Acanthis flammea exilipes.

Foreness, single bird, 21st December.

1991

Church Wood, Canterbury, four birds; with two there, 24th February; three, 3rd March, and one, 9th March.

2013

Foreness, single bird, 11th October.

 

Dungeness, single bird, trapped and ringed, 11th October. This bird was later controlled at Sandwich Bay on 16th November.

2014

Hemsted Forest, single bird, 9th-13th January.

2018

Horsmonden, single bird, 20th January until 11th March.

No Longer Accepted
