404 Shelduck (347 roosting on FP, 57 BB1), 2 Pochard, 6 Tufted Duck, 4 Mallard, 1 Little Grebe, 32 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cuckoo (singing male on BBPs), 7 Coot, 107 Avocet (roosting on FP - no indication of breeding on reserve), 52 Oystercatcher (49 roosting on FP), 4 Ringed Plover (FP - 2 pairs, one possibly sitting), 4 Little Ringed Plover (adult and fledged juvs on SP), 41 Lapwing, 13 Redshank, 2 Common Tern (feeding over HP), 13 Black-headed Gull (even small colony on CP islands deserted - no breeding at all this year. Worst year I’ve ever experienced at Cliffe for breeding birds due to drought and low water levels.
